Two New Horizon Europe Successes from METU
Dear Researchers,
We are pleased to share two important project achievements by our University under the Horizon Europe Programme.
MICROCARD-3
Numerical Modeling of Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Cellular Scale
Assoc. Prof. Yeşim Serinağaoğlu Doğrusöz from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is participating as a consortium partner in the MICROCARD-3 project, which has been selected for funding.
The project will develop interdisciplinary, community-driven software that enables the simulation of cardiac tissue at the cellular and subcellular levels using EuroHPC systems, Europe's most powerful supercomputers.
ReBel
Resilient Battery-grade Refining from European Local Sources
Asst. Prof. Irmak Sargın from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering is participating as a consortium partner in the ReBel project, which has been selected for funding.
The project aims to enable the sustainable, low-emission refining of battery-grade strategic raw materials - Li, Ni, Co, Mn, P, and graphite - obtained from local primary and secondary sources across Europe.
We sincerely congratulate Assoc. Prof. Yeşim Serinağaoğlu Doğrusöz, Asst. Prof. Irmak Sargın, and their project teams on these valuable achievements and wish them continued success in their work.
Yours sincerely,
Research Coordination Office
