EURAXESS - Researchers in Motion is a European Commission joint venture that provides researchers with information and support services on mobility and career development opportunities in Europe. It strengthens Europe's cooperation within itself and with the world.

National Context

TÜBİTAK serves as a Bridgehead Organization and represents Türkiye in the EURAXESS initiative of the European Commission to facilitate openness, transparency, and a merit-based approach in the recruitment processes for researchers.

Since 2015

METU has been a Euraxess Service Center

and holds the distinction of being the first in Türkiye.

HR Excellence in Research 

An essential part of EURAXESS is the Human Resources Strategies for Researchers (HRS4R), serving as a vital milestone for becoming a truly researcher-friendly university. Aligning with this vision since 2018, METU has continuously improved its human resources practices in line with European standards. For the 2026 "HR Excellence in Research" renewal, METU has updated its Action Plan based on the revised Charter’s 20 principles, reaffirming its commitment to a supportive, attractive, and excellence-driven research environment.
