METU Secures a New Horizon Europe Coordination Role: DTO-WISE
Dear Researchers,
We are proud to share that our university has achieved another significant success as project coordinator under the HORIZON-MISS-2025-03-OCEAN-08 call of the Horizon Europe Programme.
DTO-WISE
Co-designed What-if Scenario Applications for Sustainable Ocean Management
Prof. Dr. Barış Salihoğlu, Director of the Institute of Marine Sciences and Advisor to the President, has been awarded funding as consortium coordinator for the DTO-WISE project, which brings together 18 international partners.
Funded under the Horizon Europe Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters” (Cluster 6 – Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment), the project aims to develop two interconnected Digital Twin Ocean applications supporting marine ecosystem management and maritime spatial planning, thereby contributing substantially to sustainable ocean governance.
On behalf of the METU Research Coordination Office, we warmly congratulate Prof. Dr. Barış Salihoğlu and the entire project team on this remarkable international achievement, and wish them continued success in their research endeavors.
Kind regards,
METU Research Coordination Office
