TÜBİTAK 2247-A and 2247-D Programs — 2026 Calls for Applications Now Open
Dear Researchers,
The 2026 calls for applications for the TÜBİTAK 2247-A National Outstanding Researchers Program and 2247-D National Early Stage Researchers Program are now open. These programs aim to support researchers and their innovative research projects with high potential for scientific impact.

National Outstanding Researchers Program
Intended for researchers who obtained their PhD at least 7 years ago, hold a faculty position at a university, and have at least 4 years of research experience.
National Early Stage Researchers Program
Intended for researchers who obtained their PhD within the last 7 years, have at least 1 year of research experience, and are under the age of 40.
* For female researchers, the age limit is extended by one year for each childbirth.
Scope of Support & METU BAP-LİDER Opportunity
Both programs provide research funding of up to TRY 5,000,000 for projects lasting up to 36 months, along with fellowship support and project incentive payments (PTİ). In addition, METU researchers who serve as principal investigators of projects funded under TÜBİTAK 2247-A or 2247-D are eligible to apply for METU BAP-LİDER support.
Two-Stage Application Process & Key Deadline
Applications are conducted in two stages. In the first stage, researchers are required to submit the 1st Stage Application Form, which includes a brief description of the proposed research, a letter of intent, information on their academic careers and research contributions, and their CVs. A comprehensive research proposal is not required at this stage. Applicants who successfully pass the first-stage evaluation will be invited to submit a detailed research proposal in the second stage.
Application Deadline for 1st Stage: December 15, 2026, at 17:30 (Türkiye time)
